Bute FRames

Built for farmers. An award-winning machine.

Machine of the year

Working with Horsham Hydraulics, we’ve created an aggressive machine that can control weeds, manage crop residue and prepare the soil for planting, all with fewer passes.

Our frame and disc chain combo is turning heads amongst farmers and winning acclaim, having taken out the Machine of the Year Award at the 2023 Wimmera Field Days.

The benefits of the Bute Frame

The Bute Frame builds on the tillage manufacturing experience of Bute Chains to bring farmers a world-class tillage frame. The engineering and hydraulics excellence of Horsham Hydraulics will give farmers confidence they’ve got a capable, durable piece of machinery.

But let’s look at the real world benefits you’ll get from using a Bute Frame.

The first improvements you’ll notice are the chain locators. These are placed over the wing, giving the setup a low, clean profile. The hydraulic tensioning is connected through the same system as the hanger height, providing easy folding of the machine.

And safety still comes first with our frames.

We’ve included over-centre sequence valves on every ram, automatically stopping the machine if the hose were to accidentally burst. You’ll see that the wheels are all uniform across the frame, with dual rocker wheels handling vibration and making field operation smoother across all terrain.

The combination of these dual castor wheels, big tires, and quality brakes ensures a stable operation and peace of mind. Once all folded up, you can travel at up to 60km/h on the road with the frame.

Since 1995

It took three years to develop the Bute Frame. We designed it from the ground up by listening to the needs of farmers. Horsham Hydraulics designed and manufactured the frame, with Bute Discs designing and manufacturing its patented disc chain system.

But Bute Discs’ history with frames stretches much further back than just three years. We started making sturdy, cutting edge frames in 1995, operating out of Bute in the mid-north of South Australia. With our innovative thinking, we invented and patented the Bute disc chains in 2012. As our disc chains started to take the world by storm we went all in on this part of the business, wanting to ensure we did right by farmers with our disc quality.

Fast forward to 2022, and we were getting more and more farmers asking us to get back into frames. With fresh ideas and a unique perspective in the industry, Bute Discs is proud to start providing market-leading tillage frames for farmers once again.
