The bute disc story

Weโ€™re fifth generation farmers from South Australiaโ€™s York Peninsula.

Our story starts on the family farm
all those years ago.

Thanks for taking an interest in our proud history as Australian farmers.

1890
The Paterson family buys a farm between Bute and Kadina in South Australia.
1990
We turned our hand to engineering after interest from local farmers in making diamond frames.
1998
Our farm started producing tillage tools, starting with the dog leg harrow in 1998. This is when we invented the hook & eye system that replaced welding.
2009
Our first disc chain system was developed. Bute Discs was born.
2010
Our second disc chain model was released, improving efficiency and effectiveness in the field.
2018
The third and current version of our disc chain is released. Innovative technology gives our customers the best results on the market.
