The bute disc story
We’re fifth generation farmers from South Australia’s York Peninsula.
Our story starts on the family farm all those years ago.

1890
The Paterson family buys a farm between Bute and Kadina in South Australia.
1990
We turned our hand to engineering after interest from local farmers in making diamond frames.
1998
Our farm started producing tillage tools, starting with the dog leg harrow in 1998. This is when we invented the hook & eye system that replaced welding.
2009
Our first disc chain system was developed. Bute Discs was born.
2010
Our second disc chain model was released, improving efficiency and effectiveness in the field.
2018
The third and current version of our disc chain is released. Innovative technology gives our customers the best results on the market.
2020
Global partnerships are established on the back of the effectiveness of our disc chains.
